How Can We Help?

Personal Guardianship

Personal Guardianship is for individuals who need help making decisions about their daily life, medical care and other day to day issues. As a former Special Education teacher, Katherine is passionate about helping people with disabilities and mental illness, as well as the elderly.

Financial Fiduciary Services

Conservatorships, power of attorney and trustee relationships fall into the category of services that are established for people who need help managing their resources, including money, real estate and personal property. This requires knowledge and experience, as well as a lot of research! As a Librarian, Katherine is ready to help you find the information and expertise you need to make the best decisions possible.

Care Coordination

Often, when a person requires assistance managing their life, there are diverse needs that are best met by subject area experts. We manage that team of experts, making sure that all decisions regarding my client are made in a way that takes into account the wholeness of their goals, resources and situational needs.

Meet Katherine

Hi, I am Katherine. As a professional fiduciary I have the opportunity to protect the legal, social, and medical interests of people who require help making decisions. I work closely with my clients and their families to create documents that reflect their values. Then, I implement the plan.

I haven’t always worked as a guardian. I was a special and general education teacher, a librarian and then a city administrator. I enjoyed all of those roles, and I learned a great deal from each opportunity. However, their importance pales in comparison to what I have learned as a granddaughter, daughter and mother. Those roles have taught me how to take care of other people, to form teams to do hard things, and to stay steady in the face of deeply challenging situations. I had the privilege to take care of my Grandmother until her death just shy of 100. I was her friend, her advocate and her taxi service, along with a host of other sundry duties! She had a strong personality, and it wasn’t always easy. It was, however, worth it.

As a guardian, librarian and educator, I enjoy the opportunity to use my broad experience, organizational skills and research abilities to resolve legal, financial, and medical areas issues for my clients. I bring the best subject area experts, and together we advocate for each client. I pride myself on providing the same care that I was able to provide to my own grandmother for every individual I serve.

Sincerely,

Katherine Lovan, MA, MLS, NCG
